Free and Affordable resources for SAT prep

If tutoring is not the path for you, there are tons of free and cheap resources online that can help you prepare for the SAT. Just remember to take the time to understand your mistakes so that you can identify what you need to work on. If you simply practice and do not know why you are making your mistakes, you will continue to repeat the same mistakes. Identify your weaknesses and drill yourself with repeated practice in those concepts.

Online Resources and links:

  1. CollegeBoard free practice tests and their answer keys. These are the only official SAT tests that have been released and therefore are the most reliable for practice. Other sources sometimes change the questions to create more practice questions, so it is best to start first with these. You can buy the book here: CollegeBoard Book or you can find the pdfs online: SAT PDFs

  2. The College Panda Books. There is a Math book and a Language book. Both are great for working on specific concepts. They both cover most of the concepts that are on the SAT and each chapter is a different concept. So once you have identified what you need to work on, you can use these books to drill yourself. There are other books that do this, but these are my favorites and I have been using them for years. College Panda Math & College Panda Writing

  3. Erica Meltzer’s: “The Complete Guide to SAT Reading”. This book is great for practicing the reading questions and has a ton of suggestions and strategies that you can use to boost your SAT reading score. SAT Reading
